Introduction

No, you may not marry the person you love because you two are the same sex. How does two people getting married effect other people in any way? It's not like your the one marrying them.

The subject of same sex marriages has been widely debated in societies with those who are for it and those who are against. It is only now that same sex marriage has become an issue which is being considered to be legalized New Zealand. Referring to same sex couples as being sinners and disrespecting politicians who support same sex marriages seems childish. What happened to equal rights?

Taking away the right for someone to get married is taking away a choice which they were legally allowed to have. And who gave use that right ? The churches? The politicians?

Same sex marriages should be legal, regardless of how people define the label of 'marriage'. It's not about having the status of being married, for homosexual couples, its about rights. It's not about religion, its not even about politics. It's about having the same rights as everybody else. Same sex couples aren't different, and every human should have the same rights, whether they are gay or straight.

  4. A very current issue. Same sex marriages are not approved by the majority, which i feel is a bit sad really. I don't belive that people should stick to the bible 100% and take its word for law, i was brought up as a catholic student and i do believe that the bible does have good morals in there but there is a limit on how much is interpreted. For people who are not gay to decide on laws for gay people i believe is unfair. But these are just all my opinions. (^v^)
Sorry for the raving, looking forward to seeing your opinion!

  5. Thanks for sharing your opinion Anna :D ! I really appreciate it ^.^ I totally agree with you though, it's unfair and I'm going to be mentioning the church's impact in the blog too because they are impacting the legalization of same sex marriages quite alot, which isn't really fair.

  6. I'm part of minority opposing gay marriage. I agree with the respect and the equal opportunities. but I believe that for thousands of years, marriage has been a partnership between a man and woman. This partnership lies at the very core of how societies have been shaped. In NZ, we have for several years legally recognised partnerships between same sex. I cannot understand why there is a move to designate such partnerships as marriage. Nobody considers a homosexual partnership to be the same as a heterosexual partenrship. Why try to use the same name for both? To reserve the name "marriage" for the union of a husband and wife is not gay bashing! Rather it is being respectful of both our historical tradition and of the difference between the two types of union.

    1. I suggest that we should reserve marriage for the union of man and woman. and perhaps introduce "garriage" for the union of same sex :)

    2. I understand where you're coming from but same sex couples want the rights they are missing out on just because they are different.I think "garriage" sounds cool haha but the problem is that people who want to be in same sex marriages is because they will be able to have the same rights that a heterosexual married couple has which involves being called if their other half is involved in an accident.

  7. Hi Tasha~ nice blog, I really likes your topic, and i strongly agree with you. Same sex marriage seems to become a big issue nowadays. I don't understand why same sex marriages are not legalized. It is their right to marry someone they love, not matter what sex they are. Any way great discussion~

  8. Hi Tasha,

Interesting read, It really does get the blood boiling if you know what I mean. Lol. I am too a part of the minority opposing same sex marriage.

In the beginning there was Adam and Eve (: Not, Adam and Eddie or Adam and Ethan? And also, the whole bacon business, I believe it was said to be a sin to eat meat with lifeblood still in it! Im pretty sure I eat my bacon cooked, and there is surely no blood in it and so I am not sinning. Unless there is some blood thirsty people out there eating their bacon uncooked? Hmmmm.

Anyways, that is just me and my opinion. Good read anyways, really have the reader engage.
